Tatlock, Lanark County, Ontario - Yes toothpaste has rocks in it, actually its calcium carbonate, and a very pure form comes from the snowy white quarries in Lanark Highlands. It’s said that this quarry shines so white it can actually be seen from space. The ground up calcium carbonate is used in some food, paints, plastics and pharmaceuticals. Omya, one of the world’s largest suppliers, mines here and has a scenic lookout at Tatlock.
