Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba - Seems mind-boggling, when lakes are so limited in many regions of the world, but here in this prairie province there’s a lake for every nine people. In 2011 the population of Manitoba was 1,208,268, and Manitoba has over 110,000 lakes.

Lake Winnipeg, which is just 54 km (34 mi) north of the city, is the the tenth-largest freshwater lake in the world.
