Newfoundland and Labrador - The Iceberg water used in Newfoundland products originated as snow that fell on Greenland 10,000 to 15,000 years ago – that’s before the pyramids were built, and before modern forms of pollution. About 90% of Newfoundland icebergs come from the glaciers in western Greenland, and they travel south on the Labrador current. Some are as large as small cruise ships, and they pass within sight of the east coast of Newfoundland - a region known as Iceberg Alley. In addition to visitors coming from around the world for iceberg tours, the great white giants are harvested for bottled water, and Vodka (it's produced with the 100% pure iceberg water and grain spirits from Ontario sweet corn). |
