Victoria, British Columbia - The Trans-Canada Highway stretches for 7699 km acrosss the world’s second largest country (only Russia is larger). This road trip is equal in distance to driving across New York State seventeen times. The highway’s start/finish points are the cities of Victoria on Vancouver Island, B.C. and St. John’s, Newfoundland. Weave through the spectacular Rocky Mountains where special overpasses have been built just for the wildlife and several 'snow sheds' have been added to protect the highway from winter avalanches. Cross the wide open prairies, ride through the forests of northern Ontario, touch Ottawa, and make your way along the mighty St. Lawrence and finish with the charming fishing villages of Atlantic Canada.
