 Kelowna, British Columbia - In the popular wine-growing region of the Okanagan Valley, Summerhill Pyramid Winey is using a mystical method for producing its product. Owner Stepen Cipes starts by organically growing his grapes in the northernmost desert wine growring region of the world. "It's a enviorment that allows us to turn off the irrigation and produce small grapes that are intensely flavourful," says Cipes. Then the wines are aged from 30 to 90 days in a four-storey concrete replica of Egypt's famous Cheops Pyramid. Cipes says that he has proven that the sacred geometry of the pyramid shape clarifies and enhances liquids. The winery uses no herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers in the soil, and has been experimenting with pyramid power for 14 years. Currently 45 acres have been planted with organically grown grapes, which include: Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, Ehrenfelser and Pinot Meunier. This is Canada's most visited winery, and the country's largest certified organic vineyard.
