Java Inventor James Gosling is from Calgary

Calgary, Alberta - Java inventor James Gosling was born near Calgary, Alberta and got his B.Sc in computer science from the University of Calgary. He's credited with being the inventor of the Java programming language in 1994. According to his web blog, when he was a kid his favorite place to play was his grandfather's shop and "bone yard". The bone yard was a few acres next to the shop where his grandfather parked all of his old (dead) farm equipment. It's history stretched back to about 1910 and the yard had several slowly decaying (but grand) steam tractors.
