Nunavut - The world's first feature-length documentary, Nanook of the North, was made by cartographer and explorer Robert Flaherty in 1920 & 21, and released in 1922. Although it was shot in arctic Quebec , on Hudson Bay near Inukjuak, it documented the traditional lifestyle of the Inuit of the Canadian Arctic with footage of hunting, igloo-building, fishing, etc.
