What Makes Canada Cool?
You can drive the longest national highway in the world
Newfoundland Iceberg Vodka and Water
Newfoundland and Labrador - The Trans-Canada Highway stretches for 7699 km (4784 miles), crossing the world’s second largest country (only Russia is larger). This is equal to driving across New York State seventeen times. The highway’s start/finish points are St. John’s, Newfoundland (North America's oldest city) and Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. From the charming fishing villages of Atlantic Canada it makes its way along the mighty St. Lawrence, zips by Ottawa, shoots through the forests of northern Ontario, crosses the wide open prairies, and weaves through the Rockies where million-dollar overpasses have been built just for the wildlife, and several 'snow sheds' have been added to protect the highway from winter avalanches.
