Help make Buddy our 2010 Olympic Mascot !!!

Have you ever wished you could have a say in important national symbols and messages? In less than a minute you can support Buddy's effort to be considered for mascot for the 2010 Olympic/Paralympic Winter Games.

Buddy, Canada Cool's sunglass-wearing maple leaf, represents everything that’s cool about Canada. Buddy says who we are and how we feel about our country.

On Sept. 28th the Vancouver organizing committee (VANOC) announced a quest for a mascot. Buddy wants the job. Those of you already acquainted with this quintessentially Canadian character know that Buddy was named because this mascot comes from the bud of a maple tree, and because of Canada’s reputation as a friendly nation/destination. Buddy even has a website (www.canadacool.com) packed with entertaining and intriguing facts about what makes Canada 'cool.' Buddy wants to take the 'Canada is Cool' message to the worldwide 2010 Olympic audience. VANOC has clarified that what they are interested in is a designer, but Buddy would be perfect and already exists. He'd be happy to work with VANOC's chosen designers, and has even offered to put on ski goggles exclusively for the winter games!

Buddy would be the perfect 'all-Canadian' mascot to meet and greet the athletes and the international viewing audience at the 2010 Olympic stadium. Can’t you imagine him/her joining our team of athletes, our cool high-fiven’ huggable maple leaf, enticing kids to call out: Bud-dy, Bud-dy, Bud-dy!

If you'd like to help to get Buddy on the Olympic team, take these two easy steps:

1) Send a quick note of support for Buddy to: [email protected], and copy it to: [email protected] (so we can have an idea of how many they are receiving.)

2) Send this message to three friends/family members and encourage them to write, too.

Buddy thanks you!
