Yellowknife Bay, Yellowknife, NWT – Every March, as part of the Snowking Winter Festival, the Yellowknife community erects a snow castle on Yellowknife Bay – created from the frozen water and snow of Great Slave Lake. It becomes the focal point for community arts, entertainment festivities, and is ideally situated in Canada’s prime Northern Lights viewing territory. The castle is something all visitors and locals go to in the month of March in Yellowknife. See lots more photos and video of the castle and festival at Snowking.ca
