More than 21 billion flower have bloomed in Greater Victoria in the spring – they know, they count them!

Greater Victoria, Vancouver Island – Every spring citizens of Greater Victoria playfully take a poke at the rest of the country and flaunt their mild weather by conducting an annual flower count. Over a week-long period everyone in is invited to count the blossoms in their community and enter the amounts on the website flowercount.com. Each municipality across Greater Victoria is encouraged to participate in the challenge. Even school classes get involved. In 2010 the count was over 21 billion blooms, and more than half the blossoms where reported in Oak Bay!
