In 2010 a Guinness World Record was set when 1,089 raced in the annual Perth Kilt Run

Perth, Lanark County – According to Guinness World Records the largest kilt race was achieved by 1,089 participants at the Perth Kilt Run, in Perth, Ontario on June 26th, 2010. All Kilt Run participants are required to wear a kilt in the 5 mile race. The race starts at 6 pm at the Perth Town Hall and makes a single loop through historic town. Festivities include awards, Scottish face painting, llive bands and refreshments.

Perth, Ontario is equal distance between Ottawa and Kingston (1 hr to either.) You can reach downtown Perth from the Rideau Canal in a small boat via the Tay Canal. Large boats can get as close as far as the Last Duel Park.
