Just For Laughs Comedy Festival

Montreal, Quebec – Each year in mid-July Montreal hosts the World’s Largest Comedy Festival – Just for Laughs. It’s a mix of galas, stand-up performances, street art and theatre productions. Altogether there are 1,600 shows, with 1,200 of them free outdoor performances! Entertainers arrive from around the world, and about two million people enjoy festival entertainment. It’s known for being a great showcase for new talent, so lots of industry people are there looking for the stars of tomorrow. And, many well-known names have participated, from Martin Short, Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler and Jim Carrey, to John Cleese, Kathy Griffin, Joan Rivers and Jerry Seinfeld. It has been so successful there are are spin off festivals in other cities  (including Toronto and Chicago) and TV shows. Festival events are held around the city, with many in the Latin Quarter, which is know for its theatres, cafe’s and boutiques. It shouldn’t be a surprise that the festival website is hahaha.com
