Planetarium @ Lunch Provides Relief from the Corporate Grind
Winnipeg, Manitoba - If you need to escape the rat race, or get a break from crazed holiday shoppers, drop by the Planetarium on Thursday and Friday afternoons for a special treat. Planetarium @ Lunch, a brand new program offered by The Manitoba Museum, turns your noon hour into an uplifting retreat.
Each Thursday and Friday afternoon at 12:15, you can bask in the tranquility of the current night sky under the Star Theatres special 360-degree dome. Its a great way to learn something new while being highly entertained.
Watching the stars is a relaxing activity normally reserved for peaceful summer evenings, explains Scott Young, Manager of Planetarium & Science Gallery Programs. The Planetarium @ Lunch program can elevate you above your paltry earthly concerns, and give you a relaxation fix before you have to head back to your cubicle.
Planetarium @ Lunch shows will change on a regular basis, with the focus on programming of interest to adults. Now showing: The Endless Horizon, narrated by Star Treks Patrick Stewart; and Is Anybody Out There?
The Endless Horizon tracks humanitys progress from cave people to modern man, focusing on how our quest for knowledge has shaped our current existence.
Is Anybody Out There? explores the possibility of life beyond Earth.
Planetarium @ Lunch shows run on Thursdays and Fridays at 12:15, and are approximately 45 minutes long. Please bring a bag lunch.
