Aurora Borealis: A Northern Manitoba Winter Adventure - Inclusive from Winnipeg (March 02 - 05, 2007)

Winnipeg, Manitoba based Heartland International Travel and Tours, in conjunction with the Manitoba Museum, Bakers Narrows Lodge and Calm Air, is offering an all-inclusive weekend tour to experience one of nature's most exciting displays ... the Aurora Borealis. In addition to observing the spectacular Northern Lights from the deck of the largest winter lodge in Manitoba, the tour also includes several outdoor activities such as; ice fishing; a unique lake excursion aboard an enclosed Bombadier ice tractor; a tour to the Flin Flon Mining Museum; a visit to an Aboriginal art gallery; a slide presentation by a local historian; cultural art demonstrations such as caribou tufting, and willow furniture making.

For $1799.00 CDN + GST this package includes the Planetarium presentation of "Fire in the Sky" at the Manitoba Museum in Winnipeg. This will be followed by a private workshop conducted by the resident astronomy expert who will provide tips on how to best capture the Aurora on film. Non-stop Winnipeg - Flin Flon - Winnipeg flights, all meals and activities as mentioned above, and three nights accommodation based on double occupancy in a private cabin at Bakers Narrows Lodge round out the package.
