Tourists can take advantage of free Wi Fi in downtown Toronto
Toronto, Ontario - Travellers can now log and use the internet or make web-based phone calls for free in Toronto's Financial District area bounded by Spadina Ave, Church St, Front St and Queen St. Toronto’s downtown wireless network went live on Sept. 7, 2006. Operated by Toronto Hydro Telecom, it’s free for the first six months (until March 06, 2007), then there will be a charge of $29 per month, $10 per 24-hour day, or $5 per hour. By Dec. 21, 2006 coverage will expand to blanket a six-km sq area bounded by Bloor St, Spadina, and Jarvis St and Front St.To register and get your username and password, you need a cellphone.
