What Makes Canada Cool?
You can tell if the weather will get cooler in Toronto
by looking at the light on the top of the Canada Life Building
Canada Life Building by Lucy Izon

Toronto, Ontario - In the early 30's when it opened, it was the tallest building in the city, with a wonderful view of the lake from its tower. In the early 50's the tower became the city's barometer of cool, when lights were added to indicated the weather forcast. Today the lights are updated four times a day using Enviroment Canada forcasts. Here's how to read them:
Tower Lights:
Running Up = warmer
Running Down = cooler
Steady = no change

Beacon light:
Green = clear weather
Red = clowdy weather
Flashing Red = rain
Flashing White = snow

Check out this cool panoramic tour of the building.
Where: Located on University Avenue, just north of Queen St. You may be able to see the tower from your room in the Hilton or Sheraton Hotel.
